Companies determine what specific skills they are looking to hire for based on the needs of the company. Employers can browse BITHUB and GITHUB accounts to filter through potential candidates to interview. Additionally, they can also look at prior searches to see who is searching those terms and in turn, bring them in for an interview.
This turns the search process upside down. Instead of candidates submitting a resume to a company, the company reaches out to candidates because their skills are in such high demand. There is a high level of need for skills such as Python programming, machine learning and Watson. In fact, Google is a prime example of this trend.
Bottom line: Dive in and dive deep! Find a domain where you can dive deep into and become as much of a guru as possible so that you can become attractive to employers in that space.
