Health Systems Optimization Workshop
September 12-13, 2014
in Chicago, IL
With the advent of the Affordable Care Act, healthcare in the United States is undergoing a major change. The pressure to reduce cost and improve patient safety and healthcare delivery is causing a transformation in the healthcare industry that could prove to have a worldwide impact. Currently, the health systems optimization community is in an ideal position to provide the necessary technical expertise to handle such change and utilize the richness and complexity of these health system challenges to potentially advance the field of mathematical modeling and optimization.
Following the success of the 2013 INFORMS Healthcare Conference, this workshop, sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), is intended to aid in accelerating the exchange of research ideas in a cross-disciplinary setting. The focus of this year’s event will be on policies, operations, and delivery of care. Attendees are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The expected clinical practitioners can earn up to eight hours of credit for Continuing Medical Education.
