Three Upcoming Engineering Events You Don’t Want to Miss

MEM alumni and students know that education doesn’t stop in the classroom or after graduation. Here are a few events to keep on your radar for good networking opportunities and to stay ahead of the game on new developments in technology and engineering:

1. MOOC Course: Law and the Entrepreneur Course

In case you haven’t heard, Northwestern is releasing its first series of MOOC courses this fall and the Law and the Entrepreneur course launching on Oct. 23 from Northwestern Law School Clinical Professors Esther Barron and Steve Reed could be of interest to our alumni in particular.

2. Chicago Ideas Week

Chicago Ideas week offers a fantastic array of conferences, megatalks, speeches, events, and more covering every innovation and technology in Chicago. Two MEM students even won special access to the event last year.

3. Third Great Lakes Symposium on Smart Grid and the New Energy Economy

Taking place September 23-25, 2013 at the Illinois Institute of Technology (3241 South Federal Street, Chicago, Illinois 60616), this conference will address everything energy, from smart grid communication to solar energy employment and more.
